Donald Trump's campaign is reportedly orchestrating an "urgent pivot" from an explosive war of words between the GOP presidential nominee and the Muslim parents of fallen Army Capt. Humayun Khan.

A four-page memo, titled "Urgent Pivot" and emailed to Trump surrogates on Capitol Hill, asks them to coordinate talking points and to counter the blowback triggered by Trump's war of words with Khan's outspoken parents, Khizr and Ghazal, The Hill reports.

"As usual, the media is working against our efforts and our messaging specifically as it relates to the tragic death of Capt. Humayun Khan," writes Scott Mason, Trump’s director of congressional affairs, according to The Hill, citing a copy of the memo it obtained.

"We are asking you to review and use the attached talking points in your daily messaging, including a release and/or statements you can put out in your social media immediately to support Mr. Trump and OUR message, that we must end radical Islamic terror so that soldiers like Capt. Khan, and all Americans, will be safe."

Mason’s email was also sent to Trump aides, demonstrating "how serious Trump’s team is treating fallout from the Khan controversy," The Hill writes.
