Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt reported that a disconnect exists between the mainstream media and President Donald Trump's supporters, because mainstream media appears to be convinced that Trump is losing support, which Hewitt claims is not true.

Hewitt made the comments in a number of tweets Thursday night:

Trump retweeted both of those tweets Friday.

Later, the host tweeted that the mainstream media does not want to see that Trump's supporters continue to favor him, even when they criticize some of his actions.

He said that the mainstream media has a "big problem" in that it is deemed unpopular now runs counter to a large portion of the U.S.
