Donald Trump took a quick second early on in the first presidential debate Tuesday to make sure he addressed Hillary Clinton correctly because "I want you to be happy."

'In all fairness to Secretary Clinton, I guess — is that okay?" Trump asked at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.

The former secretary of state nodded her approval.

"Good," Trump responded. "I want you to be very happy.

"It's very important to me."
