A Democratic National Committee advisory group is getting heat for not packing the roster with more liberals.

DNC head Tom Perez announced a 30-member transition advisory committee Wednesday, triggering criticism from the Progressive Change Campaign Committee that not enough members belong to the party's liberal wing, The Hill reported.

"Many progressives are noticing that the initial names on the DNC Transition Advisory Committee include zero leaders of progressive grassroots groups that engage in electoral work and very few movement progressives," PCCC's spokesperson Kait Sweeney said, per The Hill.

According to the report, she intends to submit additional names for consideration to help Democrats capitalize on grassroots organizations that make up the "resistance" to President Donald Trump.

The advisory committee includes three members backed by progressives, The Hill reported: labor activist Ai-jen Poo, Washington Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal, and union activist Brian Weeks.

Others include Black Lives Matter activist Deray McKesson, former American Federation of Teachers aide LaToia Jones, and former DNC chair candidates Pete Buttigieg, Sally Boynton Brown, and Jehmu Greene.

In the wake of the 2016 presidential defeat, the DNC is trying to retool under Perez; at the end of April, the party will begin work on recommendations to build party membership and deal with issues –  including the role of superdelegates in the nomination process.
