Poll: Sen. Feinstein Has Big Lead Over Primary Challengers in Calif.

Incumbent Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif, holds a commanding lead over her nearest challenger, Democrat Kevin de Leon, in advance of Tuesday's California primary, according to a new poll by the Institute of Governmental Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.

Here is how the poll break down:

• 36 percent back Feinstein in the 32-candidate race.
• 11 percent support de Leon, a Democratic state senator.
• 7 percent back Republican James Bradley.
• 25 percent remain undecided.

California's primary system allows the top two finishers to advance to the general election, regardless of their party affiliation, The Washington Times noted. 

The survey, conducted May 22-28, polled 2,106 likely voters It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
