Jon Huntsman, a former U.S. ambassador to China and a former governor of Utah, is reportedly being considered to be the deputy secretary of state in the Trump administration.
According to The Wall Street Journal, no decision has yet been made on who will serve as the No. 2 man behind Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Huntsman, however, is reportedly in the mix.
Huntsman — who at one point was a candidate to serve as secretary of state — endorsed Trump for president last year but later criticized him after a tape containing Trump's sexually charged comments was leaked.
Huntsman worked in the Clinton administration as U.S. ambassador to Singapore from 1992-1993, and later served as Utah's governor from 2005-2009. He was the U.S. ambassador to China under President Barack Obama from 2009-2011.
It was reported after the November election Huntsman was considering a 2018 Senate bid.
