Never let the facts get in the way of a good story. President Barack Obama and other Democrats have taken to using the term “Republican Congress,” even though Democrats control the Senate,
The Hill reports.
The reason isn’t too hard to pinpoint. With congressional approval ratings dropping below 15 percent, no politician wants to be seen with a link to the legislative branch.
Here’s an example from the oval office. “I’m the first one to acknowledge that the relations between myself and the Republican Congress have not been good over the last several months, but it’s not for lack of effort,” Obama told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos this month. “It has to do with the fact that, you know, they’ve made a decision to follow what is a pretty extreme approach to governance.”
The broader brush shifts the blame.
