Congressional Democrats have proposed legislation that would allow President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence to be sued for not providing financial data, the Washington Examiner reported.
In the symbolic gesture, since they lack the numbers in either chamber, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Katherine Clark sponsored legislation that would require Trump and Pence to disclose financial disclosure forms – including tax returns – within 30 days of taking office or be open to lawsuits, the Examiner reported.
"The American people need to be able to trust that the president's decisions are based on the best interests of families at home, and not the president's financial interests," Clark said.
