Incumbent GOP Nevada Sen. Dean Heller and his opponent, Jacky Rosen, are virtually tied in a race Democrats have eyed as a chance for a key pickup opportunity, a new poll found.
In an SSRS survey for CNN, three points separate the candidates, with Rosen at 48 percent and Heller at 45 percent — within the plus or minus 3.8 percentage points margin of error.
The pair have remained tightly matched since September, CNN reported. But 10 percent of likely voters in the state say they still haven't yet made a firm decision on the race, the new poll showed.
Here’s other findings from the poll:
- A majority of women back Rosen and most men support Heller. Also, white voters with college degrees narrowly break toward Rosen, while whites without a degree favor Heller by a wide margin. Non-whites prefer Rosen 64 percent to 28 percent.
- Rosen’s favorability rating is 46 percent, with 42 percent having a negative view. Heller nets a 47 percent favorable rating, with a 45 percent unfavorable mark.
- President Donald Trump’s approval rating is at 49 percent, with 48 percent disapproving.
