Rep. Darrell Issa told reporters Tuesday his position on the GOP's latest healthcare proposal was "none of your business," The Hill reports.
"None of our business? What about your constituents? Don't they deserve to know how you're going to vote on this?" a reporter for The Hill responded.
"You're not a constituent," Issa said as he entered an elevator with other lawmakers to leave the House floor.
The new bill would likely weaken protections for people with pre-existing conditions as states could request a waiver that would allow insurers to set prices based on how healthy a person is, reduce the number of people on Medicare, lower insurance for people who are young and healthy but increase prices for older people, among other changes.
Several Republicans have voiced opposition to the new legislation, including Rep. Fred Upton, the former chairman of one of the House committees that drafted legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
