Danielle Alvarez to Newsmax: Trump Campaign's Focus on 'Key Issues'

By    |   Tuesday, 24 September 2024 12:19 PM EDT

Six weeks before the U.S. presidential election, the focus comes down to "key issues," particularly the economy and securing the border, Danielle Alvarez, a senior campaign adviser for former President Donald Trump, said Tuesday on Newsmax.

"It's really about the kitchen table and pocketbook issues, and the second most important issue to Americans is the southern border," Alvarez said on "Wake Up America." "President Trump has a track record of delivering for American families, for American workers. He has a track record of securing that southern border. And Kamala Harris, as President Trump said last night in Pennsylvania, has failed over the last three and a half years."

Meanwhile, Trump's call for the mass deportation of illegal immigrants has been deemed controversial, even though surveys show 54% of Americans agree with deporting people who are not legally in the United States, including 25% of Democrats.

"Let's not forget the 58% of independents," Alvarez said. "It is a popular plan. Hispanics also support President Trump's plan to secure the border and deport mass deportations for illegal immigrants. This invasion is something that we cannot sustain in our country. We know that it is a drain on our resources. We know that it is hurting our economy. We know that migrant crime is through the roof."

Harris' campaign is discussing her returning to the border as the matter is a key issue, but it "won't make a difference for her," she added.

"All she has to offer is word salad," Alvarez said. "All she has to offer is empty promises. She doesn't have a plan to secure the border. She doesn't have the leadership, or the strength to stand up to our enemies on a global stage. She doesn't have the plans to bring down inflation to restore our economy. She is an absolute failure. She is weak and she is dangerously liberal."

Recent reports indicate that 92% of people who work for Harris have left her staff in her first three years, and that "speaks volumes," Alvarez added.

"What else speaks volumes is the fact that she ascended the throne to the top of the Democrat ticket without earning a single Democrat vote to get there," she said. "Let's not forget how liberal she was in 2020 ... she said in the CNN interview that her values have not changed.

"And while it is incredibly telling that her staff cannot stick with her and what kind of a failed leader she is, it is also just as telling that she did not win a single primary state in 2020 or 2024 to get to where she is today. The American people do not want her and they will reject her in November."
