DACA Activists on Monday took over a Dream Act press conference in San Francisco and confronted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., calling her a liar and Democrats a “deportation machine,” NBC Bay Area reported.
"We are immigrant youth, undocumented and unafraid," “Democrats deport,” “All of us or none of us” they chanted at the presser, which was also attended by Reps. Barbara Lee and Jared Huffman.
The activists chanted for nearly an hour before the House members packed up and left. The three were there to call for the immediate passage of the Dream Act, a federal proposal that offers many of the same protections as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program but was never approved by Congress.
Pelosi struck a tentative deal with President Donald Trump over a program to extend legal protections to young undocumented immigrants. But the protestors wouldn’t let her speak.
“Where were you when we asked you to defend our parents?” the group said. “And now you tell us — you have the audacity to tell us — you have been fighting deportation. You are a liar! You are a liar! You are a liar!”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Pelosi told the group. “It’s clear you don’t want any answers.”
