Sen. Ted Cruz: Trump, GOP Must Make Good on Promises

President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers must keep the promises they've made to Americans — and do it now, Sen. Ted Cruz said on Tuesday.

"We've got to deliver on the promises we've made. This is a dangerous time and it's also a time that's ripe with opportunity," Cruz, a Texas Republican, said on "The Mike Gallagher Show," airing on AM970's "The Answer."

But Cruz said he was impressed by Trump's tough responses to North Korea's ongoing nuclear threats.

"President Trump is sending very serious signals, and signals that they should listen to, that there are consequences for threatening and waging war against the United States," Cruz told Gallagher.

"There's no doubt that a return of American strength is critical."
