Five Lesser-Known Figures to Watch at CPAC

The Conservative Political Action Conference, which runs through Saturday in Washington, D.C., features plenty of heavyweight Republicans. But Politico  profiles five lesser-known people to watch at the annual conference.

• Alex Schriver — He’s chairman of the national College Republicans, which will furnish much of the event’s attendance and rah-rah spirit.
• Brad Stine — What would a conference be without a comedian? He’s giving a speech Thursday titled “Political Correctness & The Wussification of America.”
• S.E. Cupp — Is she the next Ann Coulter? Cupp, a rising conservative commentator, is appearing in four sessions of the conference, which is four more than she did last year.
• James O’Keefe — This is the man whose audio and video recordings of the liberal advocacy group ACORN helped bring it down in 2009. His video also led to the exit of National Public Radio CEO Vivian Schiller last year. In 2010, O’Keefe garnered a “rock star welcome” at the conference, according to Politico.
• Robert Stacy McCain — He writes for The American Spectator and previously worked for The Washington Times. “After years of attending, he knows virtually everyone and occupies the Marriott Wardman like a mayor,” Politico states.
