President Donald Trump's former campaign manager on Wednesday defended his congratulating Russian President Vladimir Putin for what is widely seen as a fraudulent victory.
“We need the help and support of Vladimir Putin to make sure that ISIS is wiped off the face of the Earth and that Kim Jong Un is not going to use a nuclear weapon against other countries,” Fox News commentator Corey Lewandowski said on “America's Newsroom,” the day after Trump made the remark.
“Why don't we want to try and have a relationship with other countries when it is to the best interest of the United States, where we can mutually work together for a common goal?” he added.
Members of Congress from both parties condemned Trump for congratulating Putin.
