Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway Tuesday doubled down on one of President Donald Trump's early morning tweets, agreeing that he has more important things to focus on than the "rigged Russia witch-hunt."
"I could not agree more," Conway told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "This is one of my favorite tweets. This is what we are saying every single day here."
Last week, "while basically everybody was focusing on the nonsense," several actions took place, said Conway, including passage of the $52 million VA Mission Act, which will expand veterans' healthcare options, and rolling back provisions in the Dodd-Frank Act.
The president was also focusing on getting Joshua Holt, an American held in Venezuela for two years, returned to the United States.
"This is the second time in 17 days we have had Americans brought back here, reunited with their families," said Conway.
She also commented that the economy "could not be better," and that the United States is marking "all-time low unemployment numbers among African-Americans and Hispanic," and unemployment is at an 18-year low with women.
"The tax cuts are in place," Conway said. "Regulation is lower. And this president is on the brink, again, of bringing conversation and coordination between North Korea and South Korea for the first time in 18 years. A North Korean official will be coming to America on the way to New York."
She added that people talk about "phony Russian collusion," but the word collusion "doesn't have legal significance."
"They are talking about the 2016 election, and so we don't want to talk about the 2016 election," Conway insisted.
"We work here. The president is focused on the 2018 election. He is assembling a team for 2020. Every single day he is passing policies that positively affect American lives. I will talk about that all-day long."
Conway also defended Trump's letter to North Korea pulling the United States out of an upcoming summit, for the time being, saying it "really got some kinetic energy going."
"The president sent over two delegates, one for logistics and one for diplomatic purposes, on the grounds making the logistic preparations...as the president said, if it doesn't happen June 12 it could happen thereafter," said Conway.
And after the letter, "folks all of a sudden said wow, this may actually not happen and if we want it to happen, then we're going to start moving it," said Conway.
"Ever since then, north Korea, South Korea and the United States have been making very, very positive moves. Let's see what happens as the president says if he is satisfied it will go forward."
She also Tuesday lambasted Democratic Reps. Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff for their comments to Republicans who do not stand up to Trump.
"This is the flailing that happens when your entire political party seems to have no positive message for America," she said. "They voted to shut down the government. They voted against the taxes.
"Many of them voted against the 21 U.S. Circuit judges that have now been seated since President Trump became president. . . these are folks that have nothing positive to say. They hold up a stop sign. They live on TV."
