Kellyanne Conway, President Donald Trump's senior counselor, said that voting against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore would be a vote against Trump's agenda.
"The president has made clear that he does not want (Moore's Democratic opponent) Doug Jones in the Senate. It would be a sneak attack of a liberal vote, a vote against the shared agenda of tax cuts, and the Second Amendment," Conway said Tuesday on Fox News' "America's Newsroom."
When asked to respond to Mitt Romney's comment that a Moore win would be a "stain" on the Republican Party, Conway said that Romney is "welcome to his opinion."
"The president spoke with Roy Moore yesterday and he has given him his endorsement… It's very clear now that Mr. Moore is not stepping aside, he is the candidate, he's on the ballot. The election is in one week."
Trump has gone on the record with his statements in support of Moore, Conway said. White House spokesman Raj Shah said Monday that Trump formally endorsed Moore.
