Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is warning Gen. Michael Flynn "all options should be on the table" if the former national security adviser does not comply with a new pair of subpoenas from a Senate panel.
The suggestion Flynn could be held in contempt came in a tweet Tuesday in which the Florida Republican said he hoped Flynn would comply with the Senate Intelligence Committee's subpoena to "produce business documents."
Earlier Tuesday, the panel's leaders – Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va. – said they were issuing two additional subpoenas for businesses associated with Flynn.
Burr, the committee's chairman, also indicated a contempt order was a possibility.
"We've taken the actions we feel are appropriate right now," Burr said. "If there is not a response, we will seek additional counsel advice on how to proceed forward. At the end of that option is a contempt charge. I've said everything is on the table."
