Michelle Obama to Fundraise With Jason Collins

Jason Collins and first lady Michelle Obama will team up at a New York City fundraiser later this month, reports the Hill.

Mrs. Obama and Collins, the NBA player who last week became the first athlete on a major men’s U.S. sports team to declare his homosexuality, will attend the May 29 fundraiser for the Democratic national Committee that will honor the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

Both President Obama and his wife have voiced their support of Collins since he announced he was gay in a self-penned story in Sports Illustrated.
