CNN's "New Day" anchors responded to President Donald Trump's tweet criticizing the network as "fake news" after they announced a new Gallup poll gave the commander in chief a 37 percent approval rating.

"They're not our polls," co-host Poppy Harlow noted, saying that Gallup conducted the survey.

Host Chris Cuomo added: "The president is really concerned today. He's on Twitter, trying to shape the narrative. Let's see what happens."

Cuomo and Harlow made the comments during a live interview with Philip Rucker, White House bureau chief for The Washington Post.

"I hope he's watching us," Rucker said.

Cuomo replied:"Oh, he's watching."

Cuomo also defended CNN's poll results on election night, saying they accurately predicted Trump's win.
