After CNN reported military members backing the U.S. president might have broken the military rules, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said it is proof the network "will attack anyone who supports" President Donald Trump.

"CNN will attack anyone who supports President Trump, including the brave men and women of our military who fight everyday to protect our freedom," Sanders tweeted Thursday afternoon, linking to the CNN report claiming "Troops bringing President Trump 'Make America Great Again' hats to sign may have violated a military rule."

Members of the military were spotted adorning MAGA banners and hats, something CNN claimed might have violated outlawed "partisan political activities."

President Trump jumped in on bashing CNN and the "Fake News Universe" for the anti-president reports, calling claims he brought the MAGA hats for the troops as more "Fake News."

"CNN & others within the Fake News Universe were going wild about my signing MAGA hats for our military in Iraq and Germany," President Trump tweeted Thursday evening. "If these brave young people ask me to sign their hat, I will sign. Can you imagine my saying NO? We brought or gave NO hats as the Fake News first reported!"
