Out of President Obama's top 500 donors from 2012, Hillary Clinton has yet to get a single donation from 32 percent of them, according to a story in the Financial Times.
Further, of the 340 donors who have given to Clinton in this campaign season, 50 percent of those have given just 5 percent or less of what they donated to Obama four years ago, the Times reported.
Obama's top 500 donated $98 million in 2012; Clinton has raised just $68 million from that same pool this year, the Times found.
Clinton has foraged a new donor base, having raised $532 million through the end of June, a number that is on pace to surpass Obama's 2012 total, the Times reported.
"As we enter this final stretch of the election, when the pace of political giving tends to increase rapidly, we may see greater movement from former Obama backers," Mason Harrison, head of communications at Crowdpac, a political data startup, told the Times.
