Former CIA deputy director Philip Mudd tore into President-elect Donald Trump's choice for national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn in an explosive take-down Tuesday night.
During an interview on CNN's "The Situation Room," Mudd shared his thoughts about Trump's transition from candidate to president.
"I'm watching a clown show," fumed Mudd, who also serves as a CNN commentator.
"I've had it with this, Wolf," he said, addressing host Wolf Blitzer. "I want to see a transition from a campaign to reality, and I don't see it yet."
Asked if Trump had made the right decision in choosing Flynn as his national security adviser, Mudd replied: "Absolutely not, zero chance."
Mudd then listed a collection of men and women who have previously held the post Flynn will hold – and denounced Flynn's behavior during the recent campaign.
"We transition now to a national security adviser [Flynn] – in a political realm – who argues that an opponent, on the stump, should be locked up in prison, who argues that a billion plus Muslims should be grouped together," he said.
