Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said Thursday the chances of voluntarily bringing Jared Kushner before the Judiciary committee "have been shot," thanks to the ranking Democrat's decision two weeks ago to unilaterally release a transcript, NBC News reports.
Judiciary chairman Grassley said Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein's decision to release the testimony of the Fusion GPS founder has "spooked other potential witnesses."
Grassley was hoping to hear from Jared Kushner about the June 2016 meeting with a Russian contingent at Trump Tower in NYC that he attended with Donald Trump Jr. and Paul Manafort.
"As a result, it looks like our chances of getting a voluntary interview with Mr. Kushner have been shot," Grassley said at a committee hearing. "He has already provided his account to the intelligence committee."
Grassley said that part of Judiciary's probe is complete, and that it's time to "start officially releasing the transcripts of all witness interview," including Trump Jr.
