New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie makes it clear that he’s considering running for president in the future, after deciding against it for the 2012 election.
“I wasn’t ready to run for President this time,” he said in an interview
that will appear on NJTV and WNET public television stations, NJ.com reports. “If it comes, I know that I will be more ready for it than I would have been this year.”
GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney suffered in November for appearing out-of-touch with the concerns of average Americans, Christie said.
“We lost two national elections in a row,” he noted. “We’re not connecting with Americans on the issues that matter most to them. We haven’t had the best candidates. I believe that Mitt Romney is a good man. I was out supporting him before anyone else, but he simply didn’t connect with Americans.”
