Christie Takes Aim at Perry’s Immigration Stance

By    |   Wednesday, 28 September 2011 02:16 PM EDT

New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie may not have decided whether he’s running for president yet. But he knows where he stands on immigration — apart from presidential candidate Rick Perry, Politico reports.

During the question-and-answer session after Christie’s speech Tuesday night, he expressed strong opposition for tuition breaks for children of illegal immigrants — breaks that Perry favors.

In last week’s debate, the Texas governor labeled those criticizing his stance as heartless.

Christie’s take: "From my perspective, that is not a heartless position. That is a common-sense position."
