New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie already has amassed $2.1 million in less than five weeks of fundraising for his re-election campaign, his political aides say.
Christie had told donors he wanted to raise $2 million by Dec. 31, according to
Politico. The governor was able to bring home all that bacon without even holding a fundraising event.
“This unprecedented financial support in such a short time demonstrates the overwhelming support from residents across the Garden State,” Christie senior adviser Mike DuHaime said in a statement.
The governor’s approval ratings shot through the roof following his handling of Superstorm Sandy last fall.
