Conservative Chris McDaniel Launches Mississippi Senate Bid

Conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel, who failed in a 2014 challenge to veteran Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., is launching a bid to unseat junior Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., Politico reported.

McDaniel has scheduled a rally for Wednesday in Ellsville, Mississippi, Politico reported, and is putting out the call during a Facebook Live event Monday evening.

According to Politico, McDaniels has two senior GOP strategists, Rick Tyler and John Yob, on board. Tyler worked as a spokesman for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's 2016 presidential campaign, and Yob was a top aide on Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul's 2016 presidential campaign.

Mississippi has a March 1 filing deadline.
