Former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page admitted Monday night he might have exchanged emails about Russia with another adviser who has pleaded guilty to misleading FBI agents about his Moscow contacts.
In an interview on MSNBC's "All In With Chris Hayes," Page was asked if he remembered the former adviser, George Papadopoulos, telling people that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to set up a meeting, and that he was approached about Hillary Clinton's emails.
"I know nothing about emails," Page said. "Definitely nothing. I heard nothing about that."
"A direct question on this particular thing," Hayes pressed. "Do you remember Papadopoulos emailing about this stuff?
"There were tons of emails happening on a lot of different things," Page responded. "I could have been on them. I might have been."
Page told Hayes there were thousands of emails shared during the campaign, but he had not heard anything regarding hacking Clinton's emails.
He also said he might have been part of emails chains concerning Russia.
"It may have come up time and time again, there is nothing major," Page said.
Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to misleading FBI agents concerning his contacts with Russians during a January interview, the Washington Examiner reported.
