Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, said that he hopes that people whom Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., sent a questionnaire about the dossier on President Donald Trump are "completely transparent" with their responses.
"I hope the people that we're asking are completely transparent. If you have got nothing to hide, you will answer those questions without having to be subpoenaed," Wenstrup said Wednesday on "Fox & Friends."
Nunes, the House Intelligence Committee chairman, sent a questionnaire to at least a dozen current and former government officials about their knowledge of the Trump dossier, The Daily Caller reported.
Wenstrup said he could not reveal the names of those who were sent questionnaires. "We'll keep that close to the vest at this time, and give those people an opportunity to answer some very serious questions that we have: What did you know, when did you know it, what did you do about it?" he said.
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray "have an opportunity to make it their finest hour, if they are willing to come forward and say, 'you know what, we have a lot of great people in our agencies but we may have a problem and we need to dig into this and bring it forward to the American people,'" Wenstrup said.
