New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen will hold onto $5,000 in PAC money from a fund created by her indicted New Jersey colleague Bob Menendez,
Buzzfeed reports.
Shaheen is departing from the actions of Senate colleagues like Amy Klobuchar and Michael Bennet of Colorado, who have said they will return contributions from the New Millennium PAC.
Shaheen received the $5,000 during the 2014 election cycle, according to the campaign finance records website
OpenSecrets.org, Buzzfeed reported.
It remains unclear how other Democrats who received similar PAC funds will handle those contributions in the wake of Wednesday's indictment of Menendez, which includes multiple counts of conspiracy to commit bribery and honest services wire fraud,
National Journal reported.
Menendez professed his innocence in a video released to his supporters on Friday,
Buzzfeed said.
"You and I have shared many hard battles," Menendez tells supporters as his voice rises with emotion in the video. He adds that he started his career fighting corruption and this is not how that career will end, Buzzfeed noted.
