President Donald Trump on Sunday called out Mike Bloomberg for his suggestion that the average citizen shouldn’t carry around guns in a crowded place.

Bloomberg made the comments just after the New Year at a campaign stop in Alabama when discussing the shooting inside a Texas church that left two dead. Jack Wilson, a volunteer security guard for the West Freeway Church of Texas, earned the Governor’s Medal of Courage for shooting dead the gunman.

“It may be true — I wasn’t there, I don’t know the facts — that somebody in the congregation had their own gun and killed the person who murdered two other people,” Bloomberg told a crowd in Alabama. “But it’s the job of law enforcement to have guns and to decide when to shoot. You just do not want the average citizen carrying a gun in a crowded place.”

Trump retorted on Sunday, nearly a month after Bloomberg made the comments.

"Now Mini Mike Bloomberg is critical of Jack Wilson, who saved perhaps hundreds of people in a Church because he was carrying a gun, and knew how to use it. Jack quickly killed the shooter, who was beginning a rampage. Mini is against the 2nd A. His ads are Fake, just like him!" Trump tweeted.
