Mike Bloomberg: Confused Dems Will 'Step on Each Other,' Get Trump Re-Elected

Wednesday, 31 May 2017 12:49 PM

Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg says Democrats don't have their act together which could result in President Donald Trump being elected for a second term in 2020.

"They'll step on each other and re-elect Donald Trump," Bloomberg, an independent, told New York Times columnist Frank Bruni in an interview published Wednesday. "[There's] a 55 percent chance he gets re-elected."

Bruni said Bloomberg told him the Democrats never found an effective message to combat Trump in the 2016 election and are still searching for the right issues to push.

"Hillary [Clinton] said, 'Vote for me because I'm a woman and the other guy's bad,'" Bloomberg said.
