Newly appointed White House communications director Bill Shine will join the president in Helsinki, Finland for his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week, Politico reports.
Shine, the former president of Fox News who was pushed out of the network for his handling of the sexual harassment scandals involving Roger Ailes, will join senior White House aides, including chief of staff John Kelly, deputy chief of staff Zach Fuentes, national security adviser John Bolton, and press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, at a bilateral meeting and working lunch with Russian officials after U.S. President Donald Trump meets with Putin one-on-one.
Senior White House advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, who are also Trump’s daughter and son-in-law, will not attend the meeting despite being fixtures of the president’s previous trips abroad.
