Florida Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson was not invited to a meeting with President Donald Trump and a bipartisan group of lawmakers to discuss gun legislation, Tampa Bay Times reports.
The meeting was set up following the shooting deaths of 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Participants in the meeting, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, were expected to include Florida's Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Democratic Reps. Ted Deutch and Stephanie Murphy, as well as Republican Reps. Brian Mast and John Rutherford, who also hail from the state.
Nelson, Rubio and Deutch recently participated in a CNN Town Hall meeting to discuss gun violence in the wake of the high school shooting.
Nelson, who is up for re-election, is expected to face Republican Gov. Rick Scott in the race.
Ali Rogin of ABC News said Nelson was left frustrated by the snub.
