More than 190 past and present law enforcement officials have endorsed the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris ticket.
The Washington Post said the Biden campaign released the names of the officials on Friday in a move intended to push back at President Donald Trump’s attempts to frame the election around law-and-order issues.
The list includes U.S. Attorneys, state attorneys general, sheriffs and police chiefs, the newspaper noted.
Janet Napolitano, who served as secretary of Homeland Security during the Obama administration, is also on the list, according to Fox News.
“Joe Biden has always stood on the right side of the law and is offering a much-needed vision for our nation, said Tom Manger, the retired chief and former president of the Major Cities Chiefs Association. “I’ve worked with Vice President Biden for years and know that he can heal the divide in our country. He has condemned violence of all kinds, and there is no question that I would feel safe in Joe Biden’s America.”
Fox News reported Biden’s endorsements came after a number of high profile police organizations, including the National Association of Police Organizations, have already announced their support for Trump.
