Pennsylvania’s highest court reversed a ruling that allowed Trump campaign observers to get within 6 feet of the ballot-counting process, ending a rare Republican victory in their legal quest to cast doubt on the election result.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the state’s elections code doesn’t specify how close poll watchers are allowed to get to the canvassing process and that county elections officials have discretion in setting the limit.
The ruling came as Rudy Giuliani argued on behalf of the Trump campaign in a case with similar allegations in federal court in Pennsylvania.
Several news outlets have declared former Vice President Joe Biden the president-elect in the aftermath of the election earlier this month, though President Donald Trump refuses to concede, citing voter fraud. Newsmax will not announce a winner until enough states certify votes.
Biden, due to take office on Jan. 20 if he wins, is projected to have won the state by more than 70,000 votes, giving him 49.9% of the state’s votes to 48.8% for Trump.
