Former Vice President Joe Biden's presidential campaign announced an increase in contributions as Thursday night's Democratic debate ended.

"Tonight, we had our best online fundraising hour since our rally in Philadelphia last month," Kate Bedingfield, Biden's deputy campaign manager, tweeted. "Thanks #TeamJoe for your support!"

Bedingfield offered no other details. Biden had brought in $6.3 million in the first 24 hours of his campaign after formally announcing his White House bid in April.

Thursday night's debate included a heated exchange between Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., over race issues.
