Almost two-thirds (65.2%) of American voters are not confident that President Joe Biden will deliver on his recent promise to secure the borders of the United States, according to a Convention of States Action/The Trafalgar Group poll released on Monday.
Only 30.4% are confident that Biden will deliver on his promise, while 4.5% are not sure.
The survey culled opinions from all parties:
- Among independents, 76.6% are not confident that Biden will keep his promise to secure the borders, with only 20.1% confident he will do so.
- The numbers among GOP voters were even more negative toward Biden, with 89.1% not confident that he will deliver on his promise, while 8.5% are sure that he will.
- Among Democrats, 57.4% are confident the president will keep his promise regarding the border, while 35.2 % are not sure that he will do so.
- Among males, 70.9% are not confident that Biden will keep his promise to secure the borders, while only 26.3% are sure that he will do so.
- Women were also wary of Biden’s promise-keeping, as 60.1% said they are not confident he will keep his vow, with only 33.8% sure that he will.
- The 25- to 34-year-old age group was the most confident that Biden will not deliver on his promise to secure the nation’s borders, with 69.2% stating that and only 23.4% sure that he will keep his vow.
- Those over 65 years old were the most confident that the president would deliver on his promise to secure the borders, but that was only 35.9% of the age group, with 59.9% of senior citizens not confident in him sticking to his vow.
The poll was carried out between March 7-11 among 1,073 likely voters. The margin of error was 2.99%.
