Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday that Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., is vital to the re-election hopes of President Barack Obama,

If Nelson loses his re-election race next year, Obama will go down in Florida with him, Biden said at a fundraising event for Nelson Wednesday.
A loss by Obama in Florida could very well doom his chances for re-election. "As goes Bill Nelson in Florida, so go Barack Obama and Joe Biden in Florida," Biden said.
Given that perspective, it’s no surprise that Biden spoke of Nelson in glowing terms.
"He's a truly, truly decent guy who has the absolute respect of his colleagues, and I've heard that from both sides of the aisle," Biden said of his former Senate colleague.
