Bernie Sanders just won't back down.

The independent from Vermont who ran against Hillary Clinton on the Democratic ticket in 2016 is considering another run in 2020, The Hill reported Sunday.

“He thinks he's earned the right to run again, and he believes if he would have been the [Democratic] candidate he would have won against Trump,” a Sanders associate told The Hill. “The last thing he's going to do is step aside and let Joe Biden take it.”

Jeff Weaver, a longtime advisor to Sanders, also confirmed that the 75-year-old is “keeping the door open,” and Sanders himself refused to rule out a 2020 run in July.

Sanders has been active since the presidential election. He made visits to red states during a unity tour with DNC Chair Tom Perez, and held campaign-style rallies in West Virginia and Kentucky to help mobilize support against the GOP healthcare bill. In July, he visited Iowa, where he lost the state’s caucuses to Clinton during the Democratic primary.
