In one of the few races to now turn against the GOP, Republican candidate Ben Quayle has gone from heavy favorite to trailing Democrat Jan Hulburd in the latest Daily Kos poll,
Politico reports. To be sure, the son of ex-vice president Dan Quayle isn’t far behind — 46 percent to 44 percent, especially given the poll’s 3.8 percent margin of error. The remaining 10 percent are undecided.

The worst news in the poll is that 19 percent of Republicans support Hulburd, while just 7 percent of Democrats back Quayle in their congressional race in Arizona.
Independent voters favor Hulburd 50 percent to 36 percent.
Democratic attacks against Quayle are apparently having some impact.
Democrats are going after him for writing a few posts for a racy website in 2007.
