Former GOP Rep. Tom Tancredo continues to be the fly in the ointment in Colorado’s gubernatorial contest.
The race between Republican Dan Maes and Democrat John Hickenlooper is complicated with third-party candidate Tancredo’s presence on the ticket, who is running as a third-party candidate, says Mississippi Gov Haley Barbour tells Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview.
An Oct. 4 Rasmussen Reports survey showed likely voters supporting Hickenlooper over Tancredo by 43 percent to 35 percent, with Maes trailing at 16 percent.
"No question it helps the Democrats," the president of the Republican Governors Association says of Tancredo's presence on the ballot, adding, "When you split the conservative vote, that's Barack Obama's fondest prayer."
