Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee surged to victory in the 2008 Iowa GOP caucuses with a grass-roots, personality-driven campaign that appealed strongly to social conservatives. And now Minnesota
Rep. Michele Bachmann is trying to do the same thing,
Politico reports.

The Iowa campaign team that she has built in recent months “looks a lot like she’s getting the Huckabee band back together — minus the bass player, of course,” the news service states.
Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson, a tea party heavyweight and former Huckabee supporter, is Bachmann’s campaign chairman in the Hawkeye state. And Wes Enos, one of her consultants, served as political director for Huckabee’s Iowa caucus campaign.
Two national Bachmann lieutenants also worked on the Huckabee campaign – Bachmann’s campaign director Ed Rollins and press secretary Alice Stewart.
