The presidential campaign of Michele Bachmann will focus on the candidate debates in coming weeks, rather than on her rival Rick Perry, sources tell the
National Review.
Texas Gov. Perry’s splashy entrance into the Republican presidential campaign took the wind out of the Minnesota representative’s sails. Perry joined the fray Aug. 13, the same day that Bachmann won the Iowa Straw Poll. And he has eclipsed her since then.
“Don’t expect Bachmann to go after Perry, her tea party competitor, at least initially,” the National Review story states. Bachmann wants to use this week’s debate to remind voters of her qualifications and ideas “in the style of her New Hampshire debate, not the Iowa debate, where she fought with [Tim] Pawlenty,” a campaign adviser told the publication.
