Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., will vote to confirm Sen. Jeff Sessions, President-elect Donald Trump's pick for attorney general.
"Jeff Sessions has my vote," Manchin told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" on Thursday. "He's my friend. . . . He's handled himself well."
"I'm voting for the person I know. The bottom line is President Trump won the election. He ought to have a right to put his staff together."
The Washington Examiner had reported Manchin had previously indicated his support for Sessions, an Alabama Republican.
"The things they're saying about Jeff – I've never seen any trace of that," the website quoted him."
