Arizona's Green Party candidate said Thursday she is dropping out of the Senate race to replace retiring Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz. — and throwing her support behind Rep. Kyrsten Sinema.

Angela Green urged supporters "to vote for a better Arizona, and that would be for Kyrsten Sinema."

"There is a lot of other reasons that I can't support the other candidate," Green said, adding Sinema's views more closely represent her own.

Sinema is running against Rep. Martha McSally, R-Ariz. — and currently has a razor-thin 0.7 percentage point lead over the Republican, according to a RealClear Politics averaging of polls.

In an NBC News/Marist poll, Green netted 6 percent of the vote in a three-way race.
