Fleischer Blasts Media Coverage of Pence Walkout

Ari Fleischer, the former press secretary for President George W. Bush, criticized some of the news coverage of Vice President Mike Pence's decision to leave the Indianapolis Colts-San Francisco 49ers game because of player protests during the national anthem.

Fleischer's comments came in two tweets on Monday and were reported by The Hill.

Unbelievable. The MSM has been more critical of VP Pence for taking a stand than they have been of players for taking a knee.

Bias in action: Pence walking out is a "stunt". Players taking a knee is genuine. The MSM really doesn't get it.

Pence walked out of the game after some of the 49ers players kneeled during them anthem on Sunday, Fox News noted.

The vice president explained his decision to leave in a tweet to followers:

I left today's Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.
