White House correspondent April Ryan is insisting President Donald Trump claimed white America was responsible for building the country, the Washington Examiner reported.
Ryan, who works for the American Urban Radio Networks, is adamant Trump's comments during a 2016 campaign rally in Ohio were racially charged.
On Wednesday, Ryan tweeted:

At a White House press briefing, Ryan asked Trump's press secretary Sean Spicer about the president's visit to the National Museum of African-American History and Culture in Washington.
"Okay, what did the president gain from his tour today?" she said. "You talked about where he visited, the exhibits that he visited. Did he also visit slavery? And the reason why I'm asking is, is because when he was candidate, Trump, he said things like 'we made this country,' meaning white America, and not necessarily black."
The Washington Post reported Spicer didn't 'appear terribly pleased' with the premise and responded: "I don't know why you would say that."
Ryan replied: "No, no, no, he said that. I heard him say that."
Meanwhile, a column by Alex Griswold on Mediaite noted: "I actually have to side with Spicer here. What on earth is Ryan talking about?"
