Fifty percent of likely voters credit President Donald Trump for the improving economy, compared to 40 percent who believe it is the result of policies put in place before Barack Obama left the White House, according to a new Rasmussen Reports survey.
The report by the pollster noted the unemployment rate is still among 18-year lows and the Dow Jones Industrial Average ranks among all-time highs.
"Voters are slowly giving President Trump more credit than President Obama for the improving economy, though there remains a stark partisan divide," according to the report.
The poll, conducted July 29-30, surveyed 1,000 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
